Sometimes when your standing in front of thousands of people you really don’t want anything to go wrong, too bad. Murphy’s law seems to apply less to engineering these days and more to IT. So here’s our top 5 list of when presentations go wrong.
5) Boneitis
While demoing Project Natal on stage Microsoft attempted to show-off the full body tracking technology by showing the bottom of the avatars shoe. However the onscreen avatar didn’t seem to track the presenters body too well and suffered acute spontaneous Boneitis.
4) Nintendo Wii Curling, I hope…
Presented live on “9 Today” the TV hosts demonstrated Curling on the Wii, but their movements seem to suggest they were practising for an entirely different sport.
3) The Scripts Speak of Giant Crabs
While presenting Genji (not good by the way) the presenter stated that the game was based on ancient Japense history with battles that actually took place – then he preceded to show fight scenes with giant enemy crabs.
2) BSOD Live
With Bill Gates live on stage the team decide to show-of the plug-and-plug functionality of Windows 98 only to have it error with a Blue Screen of Death as soon as they connect the scanner.
1) Asimo ouch
Turns out that robots aren’t very good at walking up stairs, and when a million dollar robot falls on it’s arse you can only think how the developers hearts sank.
So, got any more presentation blunders – let us know in the comments section below.
